Our equipment
Siemens Biograph Vision 450 PET/CT
The PET/CT is a Positron Emission Tomograph (PET) and computer tomograph (128 Edge) in one. For the examination, a small amount of a weakly radioactive substance called a tracer is injected into the patient. This tracer is metabolized and enriched in tumors and areas of inflammation in the body, which the PET scan can visualize. The exact anatomical assignment is made by fusing the PET image with the CT image.
We use a Siemens Biograph Vision 450, a second-generation digital PET/CT that uses innovative technology and a new design featuring LSO crystal detectors. This provides higher-resolution, more accurate imaging while reducing examination time and patient radiation exposure.
Siemens Magnetom Skyra 3 Tesla MRT
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a long-standing method that allows a wide range of examinations with low risk. We use a Siemens Magnetom Skyra 3 Tesla MRI. The digital tomograph captures detailed images in a fraction of the time of earlier machines. The high-quality images are characterized primarily by their consistency and efficiency. Intuitive protocol management leads to easy reproducibility of images and thus fewer failed exams. Also noteworthy is the increased patient comfort thanks to the gantry, which is only 163 cm long and even 70 cm wide, as well as the lightweight and quick-to-apply coils.
Siemens Symbia Intevo Bold SPECT/CT
A SPECT/CT is a combination of a single photon emission tomography (SPECT) and a computed tomography (CT). Here, SPECT can depict metabolic problems that can be precisely localized thanks to the cross-sectional imaging technique of CT.
At MCB, we use the Symbia Intevo Bold from Siemens. The device’s innovative software helps determine the correct radiation dose. Fast, efficient examinations without sacrificing high medical quality are thus possible.
Roche Cobas® Pro – laboratory line
To enable holistic diagnostics, we also perform comprehensive laboratory analyses in addition to imaging diagnostics. For this purpose, we use, among other things, the Roche Cobas® Pro laboratory line. This enables us to perform laboratory tests in a timesaving yet precise manner. The minimized operating and preparation effort helps us to concentrate on our patients. At the same time, the sample volume required for different examinations in just one run is very small. The innovative device allows short waiting times for detailed diagnostics and more time for the essentials of our work.
Agilent ICP-MS 7800 Mass Spectrometer
In addition to modern radiological and nuclear medicine examinations, we also perform laboratory tests. For this purpose, we use, among other things, the 7800 ICP-MS mass spectrometer from Agilent. The device enables precise analysis of samples for trace elements (iodine, zinc, selenium) and is therefore an important component especially of our thyroid diagnostics.
